Insanity, 13.3% ABV, is made by aging our Blithering Idiot Barleywine Ale in whiskey barrels.The barrel aging imparts an additional level of complexity to an already intense malt profile by adding a combination of vanilla, oak and whiskey notes.
Update on the 2018 Release of Insanity
Issues getting whiskey barrels before the scheduled March release have led us to make the decision to postpone Insanity until January 2019. This is one of our favorite and most sought after beers, but in order to keep our release schedule tight and not clutter up inventory for our wholesalers and retailers, we decided it would be best to push the release until next year. Don’t fear… Insanity will be back.
